What I Do
I really enjoy my role as Care Coordinator at Chessel Support Services. There are many different aspects to my role including organising how our clients receive the care that they need. This involves allocating support workers to clients and updating care plans to ensure everyone has the most relevant and up to date information. My job is to ensure our team leaders and support workers have all the tools required to be able to deliver the best possible care for our clients as well as providing direct support.
Experience
For most of my working life, I have worked as an administrator. I soon became a senior administrator, and after 9 years working for my previous company I knew it was time for a change. After a week working with Chessel Support Services, I was hooked on working in care. It’s such a unique experience and feeling to be able to go home at the end of the day knowing you have made a positive difference to someone’s day that I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Initially working for Chessel support services as a support worker, I was quickly spotted by management for a potential team leader role. Soon after, the care coordinator at the time was promoted to deputy manager, and I became Care Coordinator. With my manager’s support, I have gained so much confidence and continue to grow in my role. I am currently enrolled for level 4 NVQ in adult health and social care.
About Me
I was born in Southampton and still live in the area now. I live with my husband and 2 children whom I adore. I am a huge animal lover and currently house 2 dogs, a cat and a rat. My favourite pet however has to be our giant African land snail called Barry. When I am not at work I love to spend my time at home with my family. With my children being at school and myself and my husband both working full time this doesn’t happen often so these moments are what I cherish the most.
